I photographed Emma and Tim’s wedding recently, on a beautiful sunny June day near Salcombe in
South Devon. It was a gorgeous event, and the most wonderfully relaxed wedding I have ever been to. Emma and Tim spread the celebration over the whole weekend, with friends and family staying in the fabulous house where the ceremony also took place. When I arrived, everyone (Emma and Tim included) was casually padding around eating toast, arranging flowers and chatting. The rest of the day unfolded from here, with the laid back and comfortable feeling carrying through the whole event.
The attention to detail was just lovely. Emma and Tim sent individual flags out with their invites, and asked their guests to decorate and return them. The result was a stunning and unique set of bunting to decorate the venue and celebrate their relationship. And such an amazing keepsake for them to treasure.
The humanist ceremony was beautiful, and brought tears to many eyes, including those of the lovely bride. Emma and Tim both spoke about their love and respect for each other in such a sincere way, and with such lovely words, that I almost had to resort to blowing my nose on my lens cloth. I love weddings :)
After a cream tea and speeches in the sun, I had the pleasure of taking Emma and Tim down to the local beach for some photos – and a quick paddle! Walking onto a packed
Devon beach with a bride and groom was amazing, with lots of attention and well wishing from the public. Then I left Emma and Tim to enjoy a picnic tea and rounders on the beach with their guests. Everyone had their own amazing personalised heart-shaped picnic hamper, with gorgeous little pots of jam, homemade cheese straws, fizzy and other bits and bobs. Emma and Tim even had mini bunting on their special bride & groom hamper. Just brilliant!
So huge thanks to Emma and Tim for letting me share a gorgeous and special day, it was such a pleasure to be there!
