North Devon wedding preview: Kelly & Brian at Saunton Sands

Congratulations to Kelly and Brian, who got married yesterday in North Devon with a wonderful beach themed wedding day.  They had a long board for the table plan, shells decorating the tables and surfboard biscuits as favours, all set within the old-school seaside glamour of the magnificent Saunton Sands Hotel.  It was a gorgeous day to be a part of, especially being right on the beach - I loved starting the day down by the sea, watching the surfers and listening to the waves.  It was a real delight to head back down there towards the end of the day to capture some portraits of Kelly and Brian together on the sands.  Here are a few preview images:

A winter wedding at a Cornish fort: Claire & Andrew's celebrations by the sea

I say a winter wedding, but it was technically spring when Claire and Andrew got married at the end of March this year.  But according to the Met Office, March 2013 was colder than the preceding December, January or February, so I am definitely calling it a winter wedding! Anyway, I was there, I know it was cold...  It was also the most beautiful of days, with a joyful, musical celebration filled with so much love and warmth that it makes me feel properly emotional remembering it all again.

The wedding took place in Cornwall, at the spectacular Polhawn Fort on the Rame peninsula.  The Fort overlooks the sea, with its own private beach, and is a wonderful place to get married.  Claire and Andrew actually live in London, but they wanted to get married by the sea, so were delighted to discover Polhawn Fort.  Despite almost sub-zero conditions, we did enjoy getting down to the beach, skimming some stones and capturing a few portraits of Claire and Andrew together.  We also had the opportunity for some really gorgeous group photos on the lawns outside the Fort, with the beautiful sea view behind us.  For the rest of the day, it was absolutely wonderful to stay inside, in the cosy, twinkling warmth of the Fort - what a perfect place for a wintery celebration!

Claire and Andrew have just celebrated their 6 month wedding anniversary, so it seems like the perfect time to show the story of their day through some of their images.  It may take a little while to load as there are a lot of images, but it's definitely worth waiting for, if only to see Andrew's face as Claire walks up the aisle.  I hope you enjoy their wedding day - I loved it and I thoroughly enjoyed returning to the images for this blog post.

River Cottage wedding: Lucy & Scott, a preview

Bride and groom in the sunset at River Cottage HQ in Devon

Last Sunday, Lucy and Scott had the most wonderful of weddings at Uplyme Church and River Cottage HQ near Axminster.  The rain fell steadily for most of the afternoon, so wellies were an absolute necessity - which was good, as there were plenty to be seen!  However, the weather did nothing whatsoever to dampen the day, which was a really beautiful, relaxed and fun celebration.  We were incredibly lucky, as the grey skies finally cleared away just ten minutes before the sun finally set, and we managed to quickly grab a few images in the evening light.  The gorgeous flowers are from Busy Bee in Axminster and Lucy's utterly beautiful dress was designed by Kate Walker in Honiton.  I absolutely loved River Cottage as a wedding venue - such gorgeous surroundings and a really lovely feel to the place.  Plus the very best wedding dinner I have ever tasted... I very much hope to return again soon..!  For now, here are a few images from Lucy and Scott's lovely day:

Farm wedding in Cornwall: a preview of Holly and Mark's celebrations

Last Saturday, Holly and Mark got married on Holly's parents' farm, with a beautiful outdoor ceremony in their walled garden.  They followed this with garden games, lots of Cornish beer and scrumpy and a walk up through the meadow to the marquee for their reception.  I award Holly and Mark the prize for the funniest ever table plan, based on the most amusingly named spots in Cornwall!  Here is a little peep at their lovely day:
