A Cream Tea Wedding at Dartington Hall: Claire & Neil

Claire and Neil's wedding at Dartington Hall took place last June, and it was a beautiful, relaxed and fun celebration.  Dartington Hall has the most fantastic gardens, and they really made the most of the space.  And there were space hoppers.  I love space hoppers :)

Their ceremony wasn't until 5pm, so they had invited all their guests to arrive earlier in the afternoon to enjoy a garden party and a cream tea with them first.  Claire looked absolutely beautiful in a dress specially designed for her by her sister, Louise Hamer.  Claire and Neil arrived together and greeted their guests as a couple, then enjoyed a couple of hours relaxing and chatting, while the children (and quite a few of the adults) had fun with the garden games on the lawn.  The showers held off for the entire afternoon, including the outdoor ceremony.  Having already spent the afternoon together with their guests, Claire and Neil had decided it made sense to walk up the aisle together.  I loved the long walk that they took, from the beautiful arched doorway through to the gardens, along the path and finally up the aisle in the middle of their assembled guests.  The wisteria wasn't in bloom yet, but the light shining through the delicate green leaves created a beautiful frame around Claire and Neil as they said their vows in the afternoon light.  They then walked down the aisle to Katrina and the Waves 'Dancing on Sunshine' and Claire made me smile by actually dancing her way out of the ceremony, followed by the loveliest long hug as husband and wife.

We had just enough time to take a wander around Dartington Hall's stunning gardens to take some photographs of Claire and Neil together, before the clouds finally burst and the most enormous shower hit us.  The timing was actually perfect and all the guests filed indoors for a lovely relaxed wedding breakfast in the majestic Great Hall at Dartington.  I loved the classic cars theme on all the tables and the amazing cake made by Neil's mum.  After the meal and speeches, the guests all enjoyed a ceilidh, which was wonderful!

Claire and Neil have since given birth to baby Benjamin, so congratulations again to the three of you!  But enough writing - here are their wedding celebrations in pictures:

Baby & family portrait photography: Hudson at six months

Oh my, this baby is adorable..

You might remember me photographing Hudson as a tiny newborn last summer (have a peep here if you missed it).  I visited him again this week to capture him at six months old - as you can see, he is just gorgeous and I loved creating these images!  I will photograph him again around the time of his first birthday to complete a set of images for his first year and I can't wait.  One of the real pleasures of photographing babies over the course of their first twelve months, is witnessing how much they change in that time, and it is an amazing thing to be able to capture that in a permanent record with their images.  Hudson was absolutely beautiful as a newborn, but it was really lovely to see him slightly older and interacting with his Mum and Dad, with all those gorgeous smiles.  I can't wait to see him in another six months time!

A wedding at Reed Hall, Exeter: Andrea & Michael

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Andrea and Michael's wedding celebrations at Reed Hall, Exeter.  Reed Hall was my own wedding venue (wow, eight years ago already!), so it really was particularly exciting to photograph someone else's day there.  I loved capturing Andrea getting ready with all the gorgeous flower girls up in the bridal suite, with the incredible views over the University gardens.  The weather was really lovely, if a little chilly, and we did manage to take advantage of the beautiful gardens later on for some photographs.  So, big congratulations to Andrea and Michael, and here are a handful of my favourites from the day:
