Adele and Jamie got married just before Christmas, in the stunningly beautiful Devon town of Dartmouth. Despite a gloomy preceding week, the day of the wedding was absolutely glorious, although bitterly cold (and I forgot my gloves...). Consequently there was very little milling around outside, but lots of amazing indoor celebration instead, which was a real treat. St Petrox Church is an ancient building, first mentioned in records way back in 1192, so I found it really quite awe inspiring. The church sits right on the edge of the river, right next to Dartmouth Castle, in the most beautiful location. With no electric connection, the whole set up is reliant on candles, which made things incredibly intimate and special for the wedding ceremony. The reception took place at the incredible Dartmouth Apprentice, a restored and converted church overlooking the River Dart. It was a gorgeous venue for the celebration, absolutely stunning, with the Christmas lights twinkling throughout and amazing (really, really amazing!) food. Adele and Jamie were just radiant throughout the day, and an absolute pleasure to photograph. So thank you to both of you - firstly for being very patient and not shivering too much outside in the cold! But mainly, just a great big thank you for inviting me to share your wedding day - it was glorious!

Emma & Peter: a peep at a January Devon wedding
Beautiful day yesterday - it was so mild, with gloriously muted winter sunshine all afternoon. Here is a little peep from Emma and Pete's lovely day in Branscombe:
Sally & Russell: married in glorious October sunshine!
At the end of October I had the pleasure of photographing Sally and Russell's gorgeous wedding in Paignton. As register offices go, this has to be one of the grandest that I have ever seen. Apparently Torbay's register office will be moving out of Oldway Mansion next year, so we did feel very lucky indeed to be there. It was the most glorious sunny day, and the gardens looked just stunning with the sun rising up through the autumn leaves.
Sally and Russell's wedding was so lovely. From a relaxed start as everyone waited for the ceremony, to the jostling between the groom and his three best men, to Sally and Russell's giggling over the ring exchange, it was such a lovely wedding to be a part of. It was genuinely touching to be a part of the ceremony, with the incredible adoring glances between the bride and groom, and the inevitable tears (mine too). The blazing sunshine afterwards was quite incredible for the time of year.
The reception was at Bickley Mill Inn, near Torquay, which had been transformed into an amazing vision in pink by Sally. The venue just looked incredible, and I was so impressed by the amount of work put in to make it so lovely. I wasn't the only photographer to get excited about all the details - the very lovely Ellie followed me around with her pink V-tech camera and became my number one assistant for the afternoon! The speeches were great, and I laughed a lot as the three best men took it in turns to help Russell sink lower and lower in his chair :).
So thank you - to Sally and Russ for inviting me to photograph their lovely, lovely day, and to Ellie for showing me how to do it properly!
