Sally & Russell: married in glorious October sunshine!

At the end of October I had the pleasure of photographing Sally and Russell's gorgeous wedding in Paignton.  As register offices go, this has to be one of the grandest that I have ever seen.  Apparently Torbay's register office will be moving out of Oldway Mansion next year, so we did feel very lucky indeed to be  there.  It was the most glorious sunny day, and the gardens looked just stunning with the sun rising up through the autumn leaves.

Sally and Russell's wedding was so lovely.  From a relaxed start as everyone waited for the ceremony, to the jostling between the groom and his three best men, to Sally and Russell's giggling over the ring exchange, it was such a lovely wedding to be a part of.  It was genuinely touching to be a part of the ceremony, with the incredible adoring glances between the bride and groom, and the inevitable tears (mine too).  The blazing sunshine afterwards was quite incredible for the time of year.

The reception was at Bickley Mill Inn, near Torquay, which had been transformed into an amazing vision in pink by Sally.  The venue just looked incredible, and I was so impressed by the amount of work put in to make it so lovely.  I wasn't the only photographer to get excited about all the details - the very lovely Ellie followed me around with her pink V-tech camera and became my number one assistant for the afternoon!  The speeches were great, and I laughed a lot as the three best men took it in turns to help Russell sink lower and lower in his chair :).

So thank you - to Sally and Russ for inviting me to photograph their lovely, lovely day, and to Ellie for showing me how to do it properly!

Katy & Pablo: engaged

It has been a really busy few weeks (with another lovely wedding still to blog as well) but all the time I have been dying to get this engagement shoot edited.  Katy and Pablo are getting married in Somerset next May, and I can't wait to photograph their wedding.  I love these images.  They really give me a sense of how much Katy and Pablo are in love, and they capture some of the stunning autumn light in the way I was hoping they would.  I hope you like them too...

Sally & Russ: a sneak preview...

Here is a quick peep at Sally and Russ's glorious October wedding in Paignton.  They were a fantastic couple, and it was a really beautiful day.  I can't wait to blog the rest of it, but this is a little taster for now...

Jo & Rob get married in Crediton

Jo and Rob are one of the loveliest couples that I've had the pleasure of photographing, so it didn't entirely surprise me when the weather fairy was particularly kind for their day!  After a recent run of grey drizzle and autumn skies, we had the pleasure of some gorgeous autumn sunlight for their September wedding.

Jo and Rob got married in Crediton, which has the most incredible church. Apparently it was the cathedral for the region before Exeter's was built - the interior of the church is just awe-inspiring and an amazing place for a wedding.  They then enjoyed a wonderful ride from the church in an amazing old Bentley, passing some lovely scenery through the Devon lanes.  We stopped off on the way to take a couple of photos up near Castle Drogo to make the most of the stunning views across the valley, then headed down to Fingle Bridge for the reception.

After a relaxed meal, the guests were able to enjoy some time outside before the evening celebrations.  It was just magical with the late afternoon sunlight filtering through the leaves, and the sound of the water running past under the bridge.  Jo and Rob then shared their first dance as a ceilidh with the rest of the wedding party.
