Branscombe, Devon: Emma and Peter's lovely village wedding

This is one of my absolute favourite weddings and I've been really looking forward to sharing it.  It has already appeared on the fabulous Boho Weddings blog - click here to see the entry.

Amazingly, it was at the beginning of January, but the weather was almost spring-like - a mild and bright day, which just enhanced the relaxed feel of the whole day.  With a 3pm ceremony, there was no rush with any of the preparations, and plenty of time for getting ready.  Emma had wired up the most incredible set of multi-coloured paper lanterns, strung up to decorate the local village hall.  Added to this was a fantastic array of lovely vintage tea-cups and plates, and beautiful little posies on all the tables.  The flowers were just stunning, with winter berries nestled amongst white roses and lilies.  And Emma's dress was absolutely sublime: a floaty, ethereal silk creation from the wonderful Charlotte Casadejus, which was utterly perfect in the setting.

The ceremony was at St Winifred's Church at Branscombe, and then the whole wedding party just strolled down the lane to the village hall to celebrate.  It's one of my favourite parts of the day, with the odd cat thrown in along the way.  Everyone then enjoyed plenty of prosecco and cake, and a brilliant party!  It was a complete pleasure to photograph Emma and Peter, who were totally wrapped up in each other and obviously besotted; the venues were just wonderful, from the old Norman church to the lovely lanterns in the village hall; the guests had a fantastic time; everything was beautiful... basically I just love everything about this wedding!

Newborn twins: Ellie and Brad

I really do love a newborn photo session, so this one was particularly exciting!  Ellie and Brad were just seven days old when I photographed them, just incredibly tiny and delicate.  It was so amazing to be able to capture them at this early stage.  As with most other newborn shoots, it took plenty of time to settle the babies and get them ready for their photos, particularly with two of them!  But it was really worth our patience, as we ended up with some really lovely photographs.  So big thanks to Heidi and Rob for asking me to photograph your beautiful babies.  I'm really delighted to have been able to provide you with such a precious record of Ellie and Brad at the end of their first week.

Thanks very much for visiting the blog!  Please do leave a comment below and let me know if you liked the images!
