A pre-wedding photo session in the forest: Helen & Rich at Haldon Forest

I really love pre-wedding photo sessions, as it's a great chance for me to spend a bit of time with each couple and get to know them better.  It's also fun to have a play around creating some lovely images without any of the time pressures of the wedding day.  Yesterday I had the pleasure of spending an hour or so up at Haldon Forest Park with Helen and Rich.  The sun shone beautifully through the trees and we had a fab walk around one of the trails.  And on the way, we stopped a few times to take some photos - here is a quick preview of a few of them.  I'm really looking forward to seeing Helen and Rich for their wedding at Muddifords Court in June!

A Spring Wedding at The Corn Barn, Cullompton: Sam & Rob preview

Sam and Rob got married this afternoon, in the beautiful spring sunshine in Mid Devon.  After a lovely service at Silverton, all the guests headed up to The Corn Barn at Cullompton to celebrate in style.  The Corn Barn is in the middle of the Devon countryside, and I loved the sense of space around the area, with views across the fields to the hills in the distance.  There were daffodils everywhere, from the buttonholes and bouquets to the table decorations, and growing in clumps all around the grounds.  Yellow is such a happy colour and it felt like such a joyful celebration today, bursting with bright flowers everywhere I looked.   I was even lucky enough to have a bit of sunshine when I created some portraits with Sam and Rob - here is a quick peek at a couple of my favourites:

Polhawn Fort: Claire & Andrew's Cornish wedding

Congratulations to Claire and Andrew, who got married yesterday and celebrated at the beautiful Polhawn Fort in Cornwall.  It was such a beautiful wedding, filled with lots of tears and lots of laughter, and underpinned with such a huge sense of family, friendship and overwhelming love, that I properly sobbed along with everyone else at several points during the day.  I tried to pick just a couple of images to show on the blog... but I couldn't narrow it down any further than this selection!  All those gorgeous twinkling fairy lights, the amazing Polhawn Fort, and a bride and groom that start skimming stones on the beach...  such a lovely day to photograph and I'm really excited about editing the rest of these photos.  I hope that these images give you a taster of how lovely the day was:

Wedding ceremony at Haldon Belvedere: Clare & Nick get married in a castle

Back last October, I had the pleasure of capturing Clare and Nick's wedding ceremony at the wonderful Haldon Belvedere, near Exeter.  I usually photograph a wedding from early in the day while everyone is getting ready, right through to the evening celebrations - but every now and again I get booked for just a short period.  And so it was that I joined Clare and Nick just before their ceremony, and left them just afterwards.  It absolutely poured with rain, but it didn't make any difference (apart from my slightly soggy feet): it was a beautiful ceremony in a particularly stunning location, and a real pleasure to photograph.  Haldon Belvedere (also known as Lawrence Castle) is a pretty little tower that stands up on the skyline just south of Exeter, and you can see it from the centre of town if you are standing in the right place.  I always thought that was a really lovely idea to get married there, if you lived in Exeter - how special to catch glimpses of your wedding venue as you go about your normal day to day business.  I imagine now that Clare and Nick often catch sight of the tower up on the hills, and are transported back to their lovely ceremony.  Here are a few images to share from their day, I hope you like them:
