I had a lovely time with the lovely Phaedra and George last week, catching up on their wedding plans and enjoying a pre-wedding photography session with them in the early evening sunlight. They are having their wedding celebrations in tipis in the apple orchards at Perry's Cider in Somerset, which I'm really looking forward to photographing. We were hoping that the apple blossom would be out for their engagement shoot, but no sign yet. I'm keeping my fingers tightly crossed that it now holds on for another couple of weeks - it would be so beautiful to photograph their wedding amongst some blossom instead! Here are a couple of images from their pre-wedding session:

Newborn family photography: a relaxed portrait session at home
Earlier this year, I visited the Hollisters in North Devon, to photograph their lovely family at home. I really love capturing portraits of people in their own home, or other places that they are comfortable, as I feel that you get a very natural set of images that capture this particular time in their lives. It's also lovely, as there is no rush to the session and things can take as long they need to, which is usually necessary with a newborn baby to work around! I really enjoy letting the time evolve naturally, spending some time with the different family members and just photographing things as they naturally occur.

A wedding at St Olaves, Exeter: Holly & Dave in the April sunshine
Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Holly and Dave's beautiful celebrations at St Olaves, Exeter. It was a stunning wedding, with the most fantastic orange and brown colour scheme - beautiful flowers throughout the hotel, the orange teddy carried by Tilly the gorgeous flower girl, and the quite spectacular orange socks! Everything felt so vibrant and bright, which tied in beautifully with the glorious sunshine. Holly and Dave's family and friends were absolutely lovely, with so much laughter throughout the day. Congratulations to Holly and Dave - thank you for inviting me to capture your day for you, I loved it - and I hope you like these preview images:

Pre-wedding photography on the beach: Sarah & Ian at Budleigh Salterton
It has been a busy week for pre-wedding shoots (sometimes also referred to as engagement sessions). I met with Sarah and Ian at Budleigh at the weekend and enjoyed capturing some lovely photographs on the beach. We were hoping for some late afternoon sunshine, but we had to make do with slightly ominous clouds instead! Luckily we missed the large shower that appeared just as we were leaving :). Sarah and Ian were great and we had a lovely walk along the water's edge, watching the waves crashing over the stones. I really love the colours at Budleigh beach. I think the soft pinks and greys of the pebbles look so beautiful alongside the blue/grey sea and sky. And it's always nice to get to the beach, whatever the weather! Thank you to Sarah and Ian for letting me drag you up and down the mountain of pebbles, it was great fun and I hope that you like your images. Here are a couple of my favourites:
