A South Devon wedding at Mount Folly Farm: Claire & Alec preview
Congratulations to the lovely Claire and Alec who got married yesterday at St Mary's Church, Berry Pomeroy, with a glorious reception afterwards at Mount Folly Farm at Bigbury-on-Sea. South Devon is such a beautiful area, and this spot has to be one of the most particularly lovely parts of the region. It was really wonderful to watch the waves crashing all day in the distance as everyone enjoyed the celebrations in the sunshine. Here is a very quick preview of their day:
A North Devon wedding at Tunnels Beaches, Ilfracombe: Hannah & Marek
"Thank you sooo much!!! We absolutely love the pictures. I'm so glad that we found you!"
There were many other amazing things about this wedding. Hannah and Marek got ready together in the morning - as Hannah said to me, it seemed almost a stranger idea to get ready separately. Marek had also helped Hannah to choose the beautiful wedding dress, so it was very much a team effort right the way through. I loved this quote from Hannah:
"The day was special to Marek and I in so many ways. I'm glad we spent the whole day together; getting ready, etc. We've been together for 5 years before getting married and we truly are best friends. I needed my best friend that morning leading up to the ceremony."
Marek joined Hannah in the grooming process, having his hair slickly brylcreemed to fit with the 40s/50s. Hannah had the most elegant 'up do', and just looked absolutely beautiful. Hannah and Marek's Cockerpoo, Wulfric, took a particular like to the pink bridal petticoat and made himself comfortable there while everything else was going on!
Hannah and Marek love dancing - in fact, when I did their engagement photographs at Woolacombe (here), they started dancing in the waves, which was particularly wonderful! So they surprised their guests by having the entire bridal party take it in turns to dance up the aisle - just brilliant :). Then they danced again at the end of the ceremony! The music for the day was carefully chosen by by the couple, with an amazing range of big band swing, jitterbug and Rock'n'Roll music from across the decades, creating the most wonderful atmosphere throughout the whole day.
It was a gorgeous, relaxed celebration, from start to finish, and I absolutely loved photographing it. I hope that you will enjoy sharing it too:
Hestercombe Gardens: a pre-wedding session preview
I had a lovely afternoon recently, meeting up with Siân and Darren for their pre-wedding photo session. We went to the beautiful Hestercombe Gardens in Somerset, and I was completely spoilt for choice with endless amazing places to take photos! Here is a quick peek at three of my favourite images. I am really looking forward to Siân and Darren's Somerset wedding next month!

First Year baby photography: Hudson newborn and at 6 months
One of the very best parts about my job is that I often get to see people again, and photograph them in different circumstances. I love catching up with brides and grooms as guests when their friends get married (and they have been kind enough to recommend me!), and it is always a real pleasure to return to a family at different stages. After photographing Susie and Scott's wedding in 2011, it has been wonderful to visit them and capture images of their gorgeous son, Hudson, as he grows through his first year. I am due to make the third instalment of his First Year photography this summer, as he is now approaching his first birthday. I thought that this was a really nice excuse to have a quick look back at some of the images that I took when he was newborn, and then at six months old. Hudson, I can't wait to see you again soon!
