London Portrait Photography: One Year Old Hudson

I have had the pleasure of photographing Hudson since he was a newborn baby and it has been really incredible to watch him developing over his first year.  I returned to London yesterday to capture him just after his first birthday.  Oh my goodness, he has grown into an absolutely adorable toddler!  Here is just a sneaky peek at his images:

Somerset engagement photography: Sophie and Tom on the Quantock Hills

Sophie and Tom are getting married tomorrow at the wonderful Maunsel House in Somerset.  So I thought it was a very good moment to blog a few of the photos from their pre-wedding shoot recently.  We had such a gorgeous stroll over the Quantock Hills, watching the sun getting lower and marvelling at the incredible cloud formations.  It was really lovely to have a long chat with them both, get to know them better (they're fab!) and hear so much about their wedding plans - I can't wait to photograph their big day tomorrow!

The Barn at South Milton: Humanist ceremony

I was privileged to photograph the most utterly beautiful humanist wedding recently at The Barn at South Milton.  The ceremony was so special, with words chosen by the couple and spoken on the fields overlooking the sea in South Devon.  It was one of the most moving weddings I have photographed, and I was properly sobbing through the lovely speeches along with most of the guests.  The couple have chosen to stay anonymous, but were happy for me to share this image. I wish them both the utmost happiness in their future together!

A pre-wedding photo session in Teignmouth: Gemma & Jamie

I loved photographing Gemma and Jamie at Teignmouth!  Despite saying that they hated being in front of the camera, they were actually incredibly relaxed and a real pleasure to be with.  We had a stroll along the sea front in the evening sunlight and chatted through all their wedding plans over a nice cold drink.  Then we had a little explore around, underneath the pier and along the river beach to capture some really gorgeous images.

By the way, almost everyone who books me starts off by saying that they hate being in front of the camera.  Most of us do.  I find it the most difficult thing ever, so I completely understand!  My aim is to help you feel as comfortable as possible, usually to the point that you sort of forget the camera is even there.  That's when the loveliest, most natural shots take place.  A pre-wedding photo session can be a real help if you are worried about the camera on your wedding day, as it give you the opportunity to see how relaxed things will be!  If you are interested in booking a session then please do get in touch.

I look forward to photographing Gemma and Jamie's wedding later this month - in the meantime, here are some of their pre-wedding images:
