Engagement shoot in Dorset: Katy & Steven's pre-wedding photography
I had the loveliest of lovely afternoons last weekend, meeting Katy and Steven, chatting about their wedding plans for July and capturing some pre-wedding photos of them together on the beach in Dorset. As we were heading home, Steven said to me (in his lovely Geordie accent) "I have to be honest with you, I was absolutely dreading that, but I actually really enjoyed it". So did I - they were a lovely couple to get to know, wonderfully relaxed together, and I can't wait for their wedding at the newly renovated Tithe Barn on the Symondsbury Estate.

Exeter Castle wedding: a preview of Laura & Alan's day
Congratulations to the lovely Laura and Alan, who got married at Exeter Castle, Devon, on Saturday. Being based in Exeter myself, I was really delighted to get the chance to photograph a wedding at such a lovely local venue. Laura and Alan booked me over a year ago, so it has been a long time coming, but it was completely worth the wait - what a beautiful venue for their wedding! Here is a little preview of their wedding day:

Muddifords Court Devon: Hannah & George's wedding
Muddifords Court is a real gem of a wedding venue and I loved photographing this fantastic day there. Hannah and George had put so much effort into creating all the pretty details for their wedding, with lovely pastel colours running through the day. Despite the on/off rain we had during the day, it was such a fun occasion and I really enjoyed being a part of it. Hannah and George were keen to have a bit of fun with some of their wedding photos and so it was great to play around with the caravan and old sheds at Muddifords. Very amusing to see how keen all the groomsmen were to get in the caravan and poke their heads through the window!
The girls all got ready in the main suite at Muddifords, which is such a brilliant room for photographs. I love all the different mirrors there, and the way that you can peek out through the front window and watch as the guests start arriving, and the bathroom is absolutely enormous - perfect for getting dressed in style! The girls all had sweet little matching pyjama sets to wear for the wedding, and I loved watching the bridesmaids all opening their wonderful little present bags that Hannah had created for them. When the boys all came striding across the grounds at Muddifords, it was brilliant to see them in their suits, and I didn't think about Reservoir Dogs for even one moment, honestly...
It was a wonderful day, but one of the highlights had to be the moment that George surprised Hannah by singing her a song. Hannah had wanted a band, but they decided that the budget wouldn't stretch that far, so instead George performed McFly's 'It's all About You' to an emotional Hannah and an adoring wall of recording iPhones! I also loved the point during the speeches when the best men instructed Hannah and George to perform the mini cheddar game (getting it from forehead to mouth with no hands). I can honestly say, that is the first time I have ever seen that at a wedding :). It was a really brilliant day, from start to finish, and an absolute pleasure to photograph.
Hannah and George's wedding has already been featured on the Whimsical Wonderland Weddings blog here, so you can read more about things from Hannah's point of view there. Here is their day in images:
Newborn lifestyle photography: Charlie
I love photographing newborn babies, so it was wonderful to visit little Charlie at home and capture him during his first couple of weeks. I photographed his twin brother and sister in 2012, so it was particularly lovely to return to the family. Those tiny newborn twins I photographed previously have turned into great big bouncing toddlers, and it was lovely to see them running around alongside their new brother. Meanwhile, Charlie was an absolute angel, lying peacefully on his rug, blinking those big, adorable eyes... Here is a little preview of their images:
