Charlene and Tim's gorgeous wedding took place at Lympstone Church and Cadhay Manor in Devon, and it was an utterly stunning day to photograph! Cadhay has the most beautiful gardens, as well as a really incredible old Elizabethan manor house - the perfect location for the celebrations. Despite the showers threatening and the ominous forecast, we actually ended up having a gorgeous sunny day and it was a real pleasure to share it with Charlene and Tim, and their guests. Mapperton Gardens, Dorset: Paula & Tim's midsummer wedding
Midsummer's Day is a really romantic date for a wedding, and this year it was about as perfect as it could be, with glorious sunshine all day long and the most spectacular sunset. Paula and Tim chose to get married at Mapperton Gardens, the beautiful home of the Earl and Countess of Sandwich. The gardens are set in a rolling Dorset valley, and made the most stunning venue for Paula and Tim's outdoor ceremony and reception. They arrived together in the back of a (beautifully decorated!) jeep, with their lovely lurcher, Freddie, then strolled across the gardens to lead their guests to the ceremony. I think one of the highlights of my year will be the point where all the guests were given song sheets and asked to do an unaccompanied rendition of Dean Martin's 'That's Amore'! It was wonderful!
Then, with live music from Stompin' Dave bouncing cheerfully through the gardens, everyone was served drinks and canapés next to the Orangerie. Guest enjoyed exploring the beautiful gardens, sitting down on blankets to listen to the music and just joining in and having a good old boogie! Everyone then moved up to the lovely Sawmill Cafe for a relaxed and delicious meal, more outdoor stomping and dancing, and the most beautiful pink sunset across the Dorset fields. A magical midsummer's day indeed!
Tithe Barn Symondsbury wedding: Katy & Steven get married in Dorset
On Saturday, Steven and Katy were the second couple to get married in the newly renovated Tithe Barn, at Symondsbury in Dorset. The barn looked wonderful - I absolutely loved the flowers, from The Real Cut Flower Garden, all in beautiful shades of blue and white. Katy had spent a lot of hours carefully cross-stitching the table names (bands they had watched together) - there could not have been a more perfect way to display these, I loved it! It was a fabulous day to be a part of, especially as the expected rain held off and never quite reached us. Katy and Steven are such a great couple and I really enjoyed photographing their wedding day! Here is a quick preview of the day:

Natalie and Mat's relaxed summer fete style wedding
I thought it was about time I blogged Natalie and Mat's gorgeous Dorset wedding from last summer! It was lovely to see these images featured in Wedding Ideas Magazine earlier this year, and I've been meaning to write a longer blog post for a while.
It was a gorgeous June day, just perfect for the celebration that Natalie and Mat had planned: hay bales, bunting, outdoor games, ice-cream, lots of cider, and the brilliant morris dancers that Natalie had secretly arranged as a surprise for Mat. Lorton House in Weymouth was the setting for both the bridal preparations and the wedding reception - such a gorgeous location, surrounded by Lorton Meadows, with views right across to the sea. I loved photographing Natalie getting ready in the morning there, with all her bridesmaids scattered around the large rooms and sunlight streaming in through the beautiful windows. The ceremony took place at All Saints Church, Weymouth, and was utterly beautiful. Even now, I still get a bit teary looking at Natalie and Mat's faces as they say their vows. And I love Natalie's triumphant bouquet air punch as she left the church! The wedding reception was gorgeous, with the pretty pastel colours and bunting theme running through the marquee, the most stunning naked wedding cake, and a cake & sweetie table groaning with goodies. Natalie and Mat's two dogs weren't there on the day, but I loved the little cake toppers marking their importance, and their photo alongside the lovely ones from Nat and Mat's parents' wedding days!
I still laugh out loud at the memory of the 'slightly' inebriated ushers burning their fingers and getting hugely irritated at trying to light all the tea lights in jam jars. And this may be the only blog post where I make an appearance - one of the ushers insisted on taking a picture of me with the bride and groom, and another kindly photobombed us - love it! Nat and Mat, you were a brilliant couple to photograph and I loved your whole relaxed celebration. Here is your wedding day:
