A gorgeous tipi wedding in Somerset: Eve and Tim

I really do love a tipi wedding, and Eve and Tim's relaxed and rustic celebrations did not disappoint - it was an absolutely beautiful day.  They got married earlier this year near Taunton, in Somerset, on a beautiful sunny August day.  The ceremony took place at one of my favourite churches, the stunning North Curry, with the tipi reception in Tim's parents' back garden at Coal Harbour, Ham.  The house is only accessible via the suspension bridge and it was brilliant to capture all the wedding guests wobbling across it on the way to the reception.  It was also really special to capture Eve and Tim walking across it for the first time as a married couple, and to photograph them watching the sun setting from the same spot later in the evening.

It was a wedding that had me welling up behind the camera on many occasions.  Watching Eve and Tim beaming at each other all day long was wonderful enough, but there were many other points in the day that were hugely charged with emotion, including some really fantastic moments on the dance floor later in the evening.  Photographing emotion like this is such an important aspect of a wedding day for me, as I think that these are the moments that bring your wedding photography to life and really take you back to the day when you look through the images again. It was amazing watching Eve on the dance floor, with her wonderful new husband, surrounded by friends and family, overwhelmed with emotion at the utter joy of it all. I absolutely loved the whole day and I have been really looking forward to putting these photos up on the blog.  Here is a look at their fabulous wedding day:

Newborn family photography in Devon: Clare, Nick and Darcey

Just over two years ago, I photographed Clare and Nick's beautiful wedding ceremony at Haldon Belvedere.  Today I did something completely different with them, but equally wonderful - photographed them at home with their ten day old baby daughter, Darcey.  Darcey, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you!  Here is a little peek at this gorgeous new family:

Jersey wedding photography: Judy and Steve at Greenhills Country Hotel

I had a little treat for my final wedding of 2014 - a visit to the Channel Islands for Judy and Steve's wedding at Greenhills Country Hotel on Jersey.  Having never visited Jersey before, it was such a lovely trip for me, with a bit of extra time to explore the island (unbelievably beautiful!) and spend time getting to know their guests, as well as photographing their wedding celebrations.  Judy and Steve have been visiting this friendly hotel for many years, consider the staff as good friends and feel very much at home there, so it was a natural decision for them to hold their wedding ceremony there.  It was an intimate and emotional celebration, with lots of laughter and lots of tears, and I loved it.  Here is a little preview from their day...

Family lifestyle photography on the beach

There has to be one thing guaranteed to strike fear into any photographer's heart... mine anyway - and that is when another photographer books me to take photos for them... the pressure!!  But it is of course also a huge compliment, and so it was that I found myself on the beach in Dorset with the brilliant photographer Angela Ward-Brown and her gorgeous family. We had a fantastic time, with some serious hunter-gatherer behaviour (well, the capture and subsequent release of some teeny weeny little fish) and a lot of fun just digging, wading and generally splashing around on the beach.  Here is a little snapshot of their wonderful family having a lovely time together, exactly what a family lifestyle shoot should be:
