Congratulations Hannah and Rob!
Yesterday was incredible - a spectacular tipi wedding, with the most relaxed and enjoyable of celebrations in the warm May sunshine. It was such a beautiful day - I can't begin to say how stunning Hannah's dress was, or how beautiful the flowers and styling of the tipi, how much fun everyone had with the fairground games and photo booth. I'll have to save all of that for another blog post, with a whole lot more images! In the meantime here is one little tiny preview... huge big congratulations to the lovely Hannah and Rob. I can't wait to share the rest of your gorgeous images with you very soon!
Newborn photography at home: the Northam family
I loved this moment above with Lisa, Nick and their newborn boy, Elliott. I asked them to sit together and pause for a moment, just to think about the fact that they had just created this beautiful baby. In all the madness of the first few days of a new baby, it is amazing to just spend some time contemplating it all as well, and incredibly special for me to be able to capture that with my camera. I photographed Lisa and Nick's gorgeous wedding day back in 2012, so they feel very much like old friends now. Since then, their lovely Old English Bulldog Alice has joined the family (I did promise you more dogs and babies!). And now, another wonderful new addition. Elliott was just five days old when I photographed their new family together, so it was an incredible privilege for me to spend some of that special time at home with them. Here are a few images from their session:

Dartmouth pre-wedding shoot: Lucy and Chris... and Elliot and Billie!
This is the first of two posts this week that also involve a baby and a dog! It is always a real pleasure to include couples' children or pets in any pre-wedding shoots that we are doing, and it was great to have baby Elliot and beautiful Staffie Billie along too. Lucy and Chris are getting married at gorgeous Maunsel House later this year, but they were in Dartmouth when Chris proposed, so it was the perfect location for their pre-wedding shoot. We had great fun trying to tempt Billie to stay still for a photo... and you know what they say about animals and children! Elliot was an absolute superstar and put up with lots of cuddles and photographs, when he would clearly much rather have been having his lunch. It was lovely to meet them all and get to know them a little before the wedding day. Here is a little peep at some of the images - more dogs and babies to come soon:

A wedding at beautiful Polhawn Fort, Cornwall
I am so excited to be finally blogging Charlie and Ed's wonderful Polhawn Fort wedding! It was recently featured in Perfect Wedding magazine, so you may have seen a couple of the images there. I've been looking forward to going back through the images from the day and putting together a longer blog post, as it really was just such a brilliant day to be a part of.
Charlie and Ed are just the loveliest couple - completely besotted with each other and two of the nicest people I've been lucky enough to work with. Their wedding celebrations took place in the most incredible venue, an old fort with a private beach in Cornwall. Steeped in history, Polhawn Fort was built in 1867, to dissuade Napoleon III from even thinking about invading the UK! As wedding settings goes, this is just such a stunning location. The heavy stone walls, arched ceilings and tiny fortress windows make the interior so unique, and a really dark, warm, welcoming space. Then outside there are the stunning views across the Cornish seas, and the sweet little private beach below.
One of my strongest memories of the day (and I'm sure, Ed's too!), was the incredible moment when Charlie walked across the lawn towards her wedding ceremony, escorted by her brother, with the bridesmaids all following behind. It was an amazing moment to watch, with the view of the sea behind them and the sound of waves crashing as she approached the ceremony, and it properly gave me goose bumps!
It was a truly wonderful day for everyone involved, and just such a pleasure for me to photograph. I hope you enjoy sharing it and looking through these images!
