Claire & Joe's pre-wedding shoot on Woodbury Common

A couple cuddling in the trees

Joe proposed to Claire in pretty much that exact spot, in the photograph above. He had hidden a bottle of fizzy in the bushes the night before, and then surprised her in the middle of a dog walk on Woodbury Common. So it was extremely fitting that we returned to the same location for their pre-wedding shoot. And very lovely it was too, with the sun setting over the sea in the distance, and Claire and Joe's gorgeous dog, Bertie, leaping over streams and through the grass. We even managed to get him to stay still for long enough to be in a couple of the photos! Here is a little peek at their photographs - I can't wait for their wedding at The Great Barn in September, it's going to be wonderful!

Congratulations Jakki and Sheila, finally wife and wife!

Two brides looking at each other after signing their marriage certificate

Jakki and Sheila are two women, head over heels in love. They have been formally committed to each other for over 23 years. Their relationship was legally recognised in their civil partnership nine years ago. Yesterday, on the anniversary of this date, something really wonderful took place at Burgh Island in Devon. Jakki and Sheila became officially married, and were able celebrate this momentous occasion with the people that they love and care for all around them. Having led a petition to parliament, which gained over 42,000 signatures and changed the law regarding the conversion of civil partnerships, Jakki and Sheila are directly responsible for enabling this to take place; for gay couples to be treated as equals, to be able to celebrate their love and commitment in the same way as any other adult, to say the marriage vows surrounded by their loved ones and to have a marriage certificate to declare this.

The celebrations were incredibly emotional, so huge and wonderful and colourful and intense. I will save more details for a later blog post with many more photographs. For now, this one image above says it all for me. Moments after signing the official marriage certificate, something that both women have waited many, many years to be able to do, Jakki and Sheila held hands and looked at each other. Wife and wife.

Oxford wedding photography: congratulations Jess and Greg!

Bride and groom by Radcliffe Camera, Oxford

Having never visited Oxford before, this wedding was a complete treat for me! I loved exploring this beautiful city, and it was amazing to be a part of such joyous celebrations. Jess and Greg got married at the magnificent Oxford Town Hall, before celebrating at the lovely Cherwell Boathouse nearby - they were just the smiliest bride and groom, completely twinkling at each other all day long! We had time for a quick wander around some of the beautiful buildings in Oxford after the ceremony, which was wonderful. And then, in proper Oxford style, they (bravely!) arrived at the wedding reception by punt. Brilliant! Here is a little preview of their images:

Lifestyle family photography: hello baby Leo!

Two years ago I photographed Natalie and Mat when they got married in Weymouth, Dorset. This week I had the pleasure of returning to see them again and to meet their beautiful new baby son, Leo. He is an absolutely gorgeous baby, already four weeks old and growing fast! Here is a tiny peek at some of their images:
